In today’s economy, many young adults enter the workforce struggling to find gainful employment. Lampin Corporation has been working to help remedy this situation for more than 20 years and continues to do so by participating in the annual Manufacturing Day. This year, it will be celebrated on October 3.

Manufacturing Day works to draw nationwide attention to the manufacturing industry. Manufacturing companies across the United States will open their doors to high school students seeking to learn about the industry. This allows manufacturing organizations to team-up and introduce potential employees to the manufacturing environment. While touring the different manufacturing facilities, students get the opportunity to converse with employees about what their jobs entail on a day-to-day basis. This year, Lampin Corporation will open its doors to 40 different students from local high schools.

Lampin Corporation has been supporting student employment for 20 years by working with the Blackstone Valley Education Foundation. For the past two decades, Lampin has donated towards sponsoring real-world work opportunities by connecting local students and local businesses.

The company also has a tradition of hiring interns. These interns gain invaluable work experience while learning on-the-job skills that cannot be taught in the classroom, such as teamwork, communication and time management. These skills go on to benefit these students in the future whether they choose to go to college or enter the workforce after high school.

As one of the area’s most productive precision machining plants, Lampin develops right angle gear boxes, timing pulleys and custom precision components. The company is committed to the manufacturing industry and potential workforce, and will continue to support both in future initiatives.

Happy Manufacturing Day!
